Metro Cruise® was started the year the M-6 bypass highway was built, out of a desire to keep local businesses along 28th Street operating, and continuing the car culture known in this area. Except for 2020, Metro Cruise has been held every year since. Collector Car Row, our famous lineup of 200+ show cars right along 28th Street at the Rogers Plaza Main Event site in Wyoming, are reserved spots during Metro Cruise® weekend. An estimated 200,000 people participate in Metro Cruise related events during this annual two day event.

The main hub for the event and the historic epicenter of the cruise is at Roger's Plaza in Wyoming and for the second year, the Woodland Mall parking lot will also serve as a hub for cruisers. We have great news for you – ALL official Metro Cruise sites are free admission and free parking. Most sites offer freebies, giveaways, and competitions as well.

If you’d simply like to “cruise” 28th Street – no pre-registration is necessary! You may cruise anytime during the 2 day event. The 28th Street Metro Cruise® is unlike other car cruises – you may cruise your own car anytime. This year's event is happening Aug. 26 and 27, and will feature two main event sites.

One thing that you’ll love about the Cruise – in addition to all of the awesome classic cars – is the multitude of businesses along 28th Street. There are dozens of hotels and restaurants throughout the area – lots of them right on 28th Street! Many of them have great specials for Metro Cruise visitors – be sure to ask. 2-hour collector car parking areas – all MAIN EVENT and PIT STOP sites offer these areas.
This year, Metro Cruise will host 11 bands on two stages throughout the Friday and Saturday event. All bands will be at our Main Event sites - Woodland Mall in Kentwood and Rogers Plaza in Wyoming. Thanks so much to two new sponsors helping us to bring some great... Metro Cruise Information Tents at the Main Event sites will have free, full color, printed programs. A full list of events and times can also be found here. Parking is available at Roger's Plaza or at Wyoming High School parking lot, and the Kent District Library - Wyoming Branch parking lot.

After the cancelation of the 2020 event and what event organizers said was a different experience last year due to COVID-19 and high heat, the 2022 event will expand with extra features. Free copies are also handed out each year at the Main Event sites – stop by the Metro Cruise Information Tent. They are also distributed before the event at multiple sponsor businesses along 28th Street.

Our applications are officially open for registration for the 2023 Metro Cruise event, set for August 25 & 26. Each year at our Main Event sites, we book classic, antique, muscle, sports, and special interest cars of all types to be part of the main... The Woodland Mall Main Event location will offer several family-friendly activities such as live music, Car Smash, RC Car building and racing, a climbing wall, a scavenger hunt, and much more. This year, the Metro Cruise will feature two "Main Event" locations on 28th Street.

Open hours are 2 pm-9 pm on Friday, 11 am-9 pm on Saturday. Metro Cruise® is now accepting applications for reserved parking spots within the "Collector Car Row" at Rogers Plaza and Woodland Mall. There are 3 different locations and 2 different days you can apply for - Rogers Plaza along 28th Street, Rogers Plaza Metro Square... Overnight parking is not allowed at Rogers Plaza or Woodland Mall Main Event sites. Any cars left in the lots after the event closes (9pm Friday, 9pm Saturday) will be towed at the owner’s expense.
If you want to have your car in the show you will need to reserve your spot early.
And continues on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 11 a.m. WYOMING, MI - The 28th Street Metro Cruise is again expected to draw a crowd this weekend to see an array of cars rolling through the bustling thoroughfare for more than a dozen miles. Over 250,000 attendees have enjoyed the event in recent years with an estimated 15,000 cars participating.
These sites will be smaller, more specialized, and offer easier access than the Main Event sites at Woodland Mall and Rogers Plaza. “The Wyoming Police Department is committed to providing a safe environment during the event for all to enjoy,” said Koeller. Eventgoers can expect to see WYPD in marked police vehicles, police motorcycles, on bicycles, and on foot. This year, a couple of new opportunities are available for car enthusiasts in attendance.
The West Michigan Mustang Club will be set up at the Oakestown-Borgman Pit Stop location with food, entertainment and more. Bring your own chairs, umbrellas, and blankets, to sit along 28th Street to watch the passing classic and muscle cars.
